Iris Apfel, 95, is a legendary style icon. We got a chance to meet her back in August when she stopped by our booth at the NY Now Market. Needless to say, it was hard to contain our excitement when meeting her face-to-face.

After having an exhibition after her at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in 2005, she rose to fame. However, Iris, a born and raised New Yorker, had been in the fashion industry for decades. Case in point: she has worked at Women's Wear Daily and she has owned a textiles company from the ground up.

The savvy, stylish businesswoman even had a documentary, aptly named "IRIS", about her inspirational life. Aside from her style, we love her personality and her way with words. We can all agree that she is right when she says, "There's no how-to road map to style. It's about self-expression, and above all, attitude."
